Assembly Sports Report for Monday 6 October

The month of October has started really well for both our Lacrosse and Netball teams, continuing the positive trend of results this term.

On Thursday 2 October, Queen Anne’s enjoyed three convincing wins against St Bartholomew’s at netball with the 1sts winning 23-8, the 2nds winning 30-12 and the U15’s winning 39-6. The top players of their respective matches were Jess De Mulder, Elizabeth Ng and Alice Oram. The commended players were Ella McNeil, Katie Turner, Gabby Woodward, Iona Chandler, Georgina Evans and Amy Turner.

On Saturday 4 October, our Lacrosse teams had 9 wins, 1 draw and just two losses at the Berkshire County Tournament with our U19, U15 and U14 teams finishing in 2nd place overall. The Seniors beat Downe House 3-0, Wellington 4-0, Bradfield 8-0, St George’s Ascot 6-0, and Heathfield 8-0, with just one defeat against St Bartholomew’s 0-4. Players of the Tournament were Ella McNeil and Alex Crowther, with Gabriella Austin and Velera Bamgbala named as the commended players.

The U15 and U14’s both had convincing 10-0 victories against St George’s Ascot and they also both beat St Bartholomew’s, bouncing back after tough games involving a defeat and a draw against Downe House who finished top in these age groups. Ella Harris, Georgina Evans, Annabelle Roberts and Alexandra Griffin were named players of the tournament and commendations went to Yasmin Hatton, Laura Clarke, Abigail Owen, Rachel Green, Kitty Williams and Camilla Cooper.
