A First First For Ffyler!

Wednesday 18th February 2015

Following a brilliant Inter-House Drama competition on Thursday 12 February to round off the half-term, Ffyler House were crowned overall champions for the first time!

The adjudicator and the school’s drama staff agreed that the standard this year was superb; even Mr Punter was overheard saying that “this was the best House Drama competition ever”. High praise indeed!

The adjudicator, Sarah Maskell, a professional actor and dancer and current Principal of Stagecoach in Maidenhead, said she “couldn’t believe the standard”, especially since the girls only had two and a half hours to put their dramatic offerings together. The girls, all from different year groups, worked seamlessly together to create their work, all of which was based on Greek Myths.

Sarah then went on to praise the girls’ teamwork, energy and enthusiasm and she told the audience of over 300 people that she had found it “virtually impossible” to come to a final decision in terms of rank order.

Following the drama competition, Mr Punter said,

“I would particularly like to praise the manner in which the L6 Team Captains worked with their teams – it was lovely to see the different year groups mixing so well. The overall standard was excellent.”
