Wonderful Trip to Windsor
Tuesday 24th September 2013
On Sunday 15 September, Queen Anne’s boarders enjoyed a trip to Windsor Castle and shopping time in Windsor. Caitlin Feilder, a Year 4 Maddock boarder, gives her account of the trip:
On Sunday 15 September 2013, the boarders embarked on a trip to Windsor. Armed with money and packed lunches, we set off on the forty minutes journey to Windsor. Plans for the day ahead included; a walk around the breath-taking Windsor castle, then a shopping trip around Windsor high street.
Once we had arrived, we took a short walk across cobbled back streets so we could join the end of the queue for admission to the castle. After a short wait we were granted entrance in to the castle.
We took a short stroll through the magnificent gardens. Once inside the castle, we went to look at Queen Mary’s doll house; the detail was extremely intricate and amazing. Then we went around the glorious insides of the castle taking in the splendour of the collection of items gathered over the centuries to form the Windsor Castle we know today.
After experiencing the castle, we walk for a few minutes and found ourselves in Windsor high street. For the remaining time, we looked around the shop buying lots of tuck! (and other things). After some time it was time to depart. We arrived back at school worn out after the fun day.
