Life in Wisdome House
Thursday 19th September 2013
Amelia de Normann, U5 , tells us all about how the first few weeks of term have progressed in one of Queen Anne’s day houses, Wisdome.
“We have all been very busy in Wisdome House during these first few weeks of term; welcoming new members to our house and decorating our year group boards. New girls have been learning their way around the school and the older girls have been settling back into the general school routine.
Everyone has been welcoming the new L4s and other new girls to Wisdome and we have all enjoyed seeing the new faces around the house and getting to know our lovely additions to our house.
Our year group boards have all been personalised and are looking very bright and colourful; the L4s have opted for sweet puppies and other adorable creatures, whereas the older years have chosen to decorate their boards with attractive male celebrities! The winner of the board competition is yet to be announced…
We have recently had an Open Morning, in which Wisdome was once again the showcase house and everyone did an excellent job of showing the prospective parents and pupils how great our house is, as well as consuming a great amount of biscuits and cups of hot chocolate!
Wisdome has been represented in lacrosse and netball matches of the term so far and all girls have played extremely well, giving Queen Anne’s some convincing wins against stiff competition. Our most recent sporting event was inter-house rowing in which we had representatives from all the years, ranging from L4 to U6. As usual, all the girls put in 100% effort and made Wisdome proud!
All in all, the first few weeks have been busy but full of excitement and enjoyable events. We are all look forward to the rest of this term, which will include House Music, drama showcases, many more matches and Bust Up to name a few!”
