Art in Action

Art

Our aim is to enable the girls to discover and develop their creative skills at Queen Anne’s. The girls will explore a wide general range of areas of art and design including drawing, textiles, ceramics, photography and history of art. Art and design at Queen Anne’s aims to give students a broader understanding and experience of art and design techniques and issues; raise awareness of the art historical context in which they are working; develop more advanced recording and painting techniques, as well as to design and work in three dimensions. We also aim to encourage confidence to work on a larger scale, to produce imaginative work; to develop practical problem solving and construction techniques, leadership and team work. This will prepare girls for more complex still life painting techniques, and they will begin to explore textile processes.
