Religious Studies at Queen Anne’s aims to introduce an understanding of theological thinking, fluent discussion and an awareness of moral and ethical decision making; open up the teaching of faith through scripture, history, tradition and example and to explore aspects of Judaism and Islam.
The Department
Head of Religious Studies: Reverend Mrs Hilary Benson (Chaplain)
Religious Studies: Mrs Allison Saunders
Based in the Performing Arts Centre, girls are taught in purpose-built classrooms. When required for research purposes some lessons may be taught in one of the state-of-the-art ICT suites.
In keeping with the christian ethos at Queen Anne’s, the work of the religious studies department is fed and enlivened by regular whole school Chapels. Attention to readings, secular and scriptural, a wide airing of beliefs and values through different voices of the community and the tastings of what is morally and spiritually significant all provide a seed-bed for the work and learning in the classroom.
Extra Curricular Activities
