Deputy Housemistress

Required for September 2017

A Deputy Housemistress is sought to provide support to the Housemistress in a junior boarding house. The successful candidate will be fully committed to the aims and ideals of boarding school life and demonstrate the ability to deliver excellent levels of pastoral care.

This is a residential position and therefore accommodation is provided,

The successful candidate will:

  • have experience within a boarding school community or similar environment
  • have a real interest in the development and support that pastoral care offers
  • demonstrate enthusiasm, determination and excellent communication skills
  • demonstrate a responsible and pro-active attitude

Flexibility, resilience and commitment to a residential boarding post are essential requirements.

Assistant Director of Music

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Assistant Director of Music for this academically selective and dynamic school.  Music is a popular subject both at GCSE and in the Sixth Form. The successful applicant would be expected to teach at all levels. He/she will also be a pianist who is a performer and accompanist. Ability to play the organ would be an advantage.

The post would suit someone who is seeking to develop his or her career further before moving on to a Head of Department. The ideal candidate will bring ideas, energy, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humour to the department at this exciting time; he/she will be eager to help to steer the future developments currently being planned.

Teacher of Religion & Philosophy

We are seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Religion and Philosophy for this academically selective and dynamic school. The ability to teach all age groups including A-Level would be an advantage.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational and accomplished Teacher of Biology to teach up to and including A-Level Biology at this academically selective and dynamic school.

School Cleaner

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated cleaner to join the team.

The successful candidate will be expected to work 30 hours per week, based 6 hours every morning, Monday to Friday. A 7am start time would be preferable but is negotiable. The position is a term time contract plus additional weeks (37 weeks a year).

Matron

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Matron to join the pastoral team in a junior boarding house. This is a term time position and non-residential. The hours required are 8.00am to 4.00pm on Monday to Friday.

The role of a Matron is one of trust and responsibility. The Matron will not only manage the domestic standards but will deal with the health and welfare of the girls. The Matron has a special role assisting the Housemistress to create a happy, respectful and caring atmosphere in the house.

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the pastoral care provision. Flexibility, resilience and empathy are essential requirements along with a caring and cheerful disposition. First Aid training will be provided, if necessary. Qualifications and /or experience in childcare, training in nursing or in a health and social care setting would be an advantage.
