QASPA

Every parent of a Queen Anne's student is a member of the Queen Anne's Parents' Association (QASPA). The QASPA Committee is a friendly and active group of parents and staff that organises events that bring the school community together, raise funds and promote the school.

The aims of QASPA are broadly:

· Family
To bring the girls, parents and staff together and help contribute to the sense of community within the school.

· Fun
To enjoy a wide range of activities.

· Fundraising
To fund welcome ‘extras' for the benefit of the whole school and to raise money for selected charities.

The funds (approximately £15,000) raised by The Scarlet Ball in May 2008 were shared between The Child Bereavement Charity, The Starmer-Smith Medical Fund and Queen Anne's School as a contribution toward the refurbishment of the tennis courts.

This year's events have included a lively quiz, involving girls, parents and staff and a very well-attended Charity Spring Fayre, which raised around £2000 for Against Breast Cancer. The summer term saw our first ‘80s Party Night'!

Cheques were presented to each of the charities and Queen Anne's by QASPA Chair, Trese Rowe, and Treasurer, Sue Laing, at the school's Ascension Day service and birthday celebration on 21 May.
