Kate push starts for Olympic bobsleigh place
Queen Anne's student Kate Swann has been selected from 2,000 applicants to join the Great Britain Bobsleigh Talent Identification Programme. The programme is aimed at 18 - 30 year-olds to find talented athletes who may have the capability of competing at Olympic level.
Kate recently attended a talent day at the University of Bath to complete the first phase of the programme. She was required to sprint 30 metres in 4.2 seconds and jump 2.4 metres from a standing position. Having qualified Kate will now receive bobsleigh training from England coaches with the aim of representing GB in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
