Queen Anne's senior Public Speaking team won the first round of the Rotary Club's Youth Speaks Public Speaking Competition on 18 November, for the fourth year in succession.

Speaker, Greer Wild, presented her speech about the unseen damage caused by gambling and the lack of public concern about the problem.

Greer was supported by team members, Imogen Sealy, Chair, and Abigail McQuater, who gave the Vote of Thanks.

Queen Anne's have won this trophy for fourteen of the last sixteen years.

The next round of the competition is in February and the finals will be held in April at Stratford-upon-Avon.

Tony Garner, Head of Public Speaking and Debating, said: ‘Because of other commitments, the girls spent a remarkably short time preparing and rehearsing. Yet they produced an outstanding performance, prompting special praise from several members of the audience'.
