Uniform Policy

L4 – U5

· Girls should wear the correct uniform at all times. During the winter months their shirt must be tucked in and sleeves fastened at the cuff.

· Girls may wear either ankle socks or tights, they should not be worn together. (Not trainer socks).

· Shoes should be black with a heel that does not exceed 5 cms in height but is at least 1 cm.. They should be polished. Ballet shoes and trainers may not be worn.

· Jumpers should not be worn around the waist.

· Girls should not wear T-shirts under their shirts.

· Girls may wear a plain gold cross and one gold, silver or pearl stud may be worn in each ear lobe. These must be removed during P.E. lessons and as necessary for the safety of the girl. No other jewellery is allowed and any being worn will be confiscated and returned to her Housemistress.

· Nail varnish may not be worn with uniform.

· Hair that is shoulder length or longer should be tied back. Only a blue or black band may be used.

· Girls will be asked to re-dye their hair if it has been dyed an unsuitable colour.

· Scarves should not be worn with uniform.

 

SIXTH FORM

· Girls should wear ‘office' suitable clothing – i.e. skirts, blouses, smart tops and trousers during the working week. This does not include jeans, denims, miniskirts – or tops which do not cover the shoulders or midriff.

· T–shirts should be plain and the shoulders should be covered.

· A smart suit (jacket, skirt, trousers) or dress and suitable shoes are needed for chapel on Sunday and other occasions during the term.

· No outdoor coats or scarves should be worn in school.

· Uniform is required for P.E., rowing and athletics.

· Simple jewellery may be worn, but should be removed as required during lessons.

· Body piercing (other than ear lobes) is not allowed.

In all cases the Housemistress will be the final judge of the suitability of clothing for school.
