Housemistress of Wilkins, Sue Hillier

Wilkins House is just one big, happy family!

The Housemistress, Mrs Susan Hillier has been a housemistress for many years both here and in other well known girls' schools.  She trained as a teacher but now concentrates on her pastoral role here at Queen Anne's She is married with three children: her eldest daughter, Caroline is Head of IT in a large secondary school in Cornwall, Christopher is studying Ocean Exploration at Plymouth University and Lucy is studying Law at Exeter University.  Mr Hillier teaches music at St George's School in Ascot and is always on hand for musical advice in the house.  The other member of the family is Charlie the dog who gets lots of attention from the girls and is the number one ‘sniffer'dog in the search for chocolate!

In addition to the Housemistress, there are two young assistants and two gap students who are all resident in the house and help to look after the girls.

Wilkins House has a TV room with sofas for relaxing, a workroom with computing facilities, a kitchen to make snacks and hot drinks and a dining room with café tables and a plasma TV. The bedrooms are purpose built study bedrooms in the new wing for the older girls, and larger three and four bed rooms in the Old House for the Junior girls.

Mrs Hillier says "Wilkins is great because of the girls who live in it. They look after each other, and encourage each other to do their best in every aspect of school life. We have outstanding individuals who inspire others in drama, public speaking, music, sport and so on.  We value everyone as much for their effort and personality as for their individual attainment. The Wilkins family is global: we speak many languages and have many faiths but the desire to enjoy life to the full is universal. We welcome visitors - the building is fine, but the House is the people who live in it. Come and meet us."
