The work of the RS Department is fed and enlivened by daily Chapel which serves as Thoughts for the Day. On Friday there is a hymn practice.
The Church of England Foundation of Queen Anne's ensures a gentle, expressive and informative approach to nurture an appreciation of ‘The Dignity of Difference' within our complex world. The Christian basis is expressed in liturgical services on Sundays and specific days or festivals throughout the year.
All girls take RS to Upper Five. Most will sit the GCSE OCR Short Course at the end of Lower Five.
Programme of Study
Lower Four:
The work of discussion is begun, learning the language of theology, philosophy and spirituality. Creative writing and artwork are encouraged as ideas are developed and grappled with.

- The Uniqueness of each individual
- Reason and moral choice
- The Book of Genesis as a basis of Judaism, Christianity and Islam
- Narrative and meta-narrative, history, prophecy, poetry and metaphor
- Jesus in history
The Lower Fours gain a basis for understanding the things of faith which involves all sorts of activities and approaches, much discussion and play with words.
Fours:
- Judaism and Islam
- Early history of Christianity and its spread across the Roman Empire.
Upper Four & Lower Five:
- OCR GCSE Short Course in Christianity: Philosophy and Ethics.
Upper Four:
- The Nature of Belief: Architecture, Art, Music, Worship.
- The Nature of God: Grounds for belief, Scripture, God in the World.
Lower Five:
- Religion in Human Relations: Family, Roles of Men and Women, Marriage, Divorce, Contraception.
- Good and Evil: Suffering, the Problem of Evil, the Conscience, Christian response.
Upper Five:
With the GCSE short course finished there is opportunity for a year of varied coverage of a moral and ethical nature, prompted by DVDs, articles and documentaries. Other faiths are bound in.
It is hoped that A level RS will be offered from 2009.
